In a separate announcement, the entrepreneur highlighted his company’s achievements and the enthusiastic demand for its services.

On Tuesday, OYO CEO Ritesh Agarwal described the successful commencement of the New Year for his company. He revealed via social media that over one million guests utilized OYO to make room reservations for New Year’s Eve.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Agarwal remarked, “The New Year has started spectacularly, with more than 1.1 million travelers choosing us globally this NYE—representing an impressive 58% increase from 2023, boosted by welcoming Motel 6 and Studio 6 into our family.”

Additionally, he discussed how well his company performed in acquiring customers during this period. His message stated, “Tonight alone, we anticipate that over a thousand guests worldwide will be spending substantial amounts across our premium hotels and residences such as Sunday Hotels and luxurious holiday homes like Dancenter in Goa and locations in the UAE among others.”

Agarwal also provided insights regarding domestic performance in key cities during New Year’s Eve. He noted in his post: “Shirdi experienced an astounding 940% rise in bookings this year; Ajmer closely followed with a notable surge of 761%. Banaras (Varanasi) emerged as the most sought-after spiritual travel destination with over 12,841 reservations this NYE while Ayodhya made its debut on the leaderboard. Based on these robust booking trends, we anticipate Ayodhya will rank highest next month leading up to Pran Pratishtha anniversary.”

The updates went viral on social media, and many users praised OYO’s journey. One user commented, “If/when Ola stock price hits 55-60, I will buy. This would purely be a bet on the founder. He has been building since 2010 when there were hardly any startups and the VC ecosystem was tiny. He launched Ola Electric with unparalleled speed. Built a massive factory in the pandemic.”
